SHARE YOUR CHRISTMAS This year we have a socially distanced Share Your Christmas and Alternative Gifts Fair. In 2020 instead of shopping for and wrapping gifts ourselves, we will give our Share Your Christmas families gift cards and they will shop for themselves. We hope to raise at least $3,600 by Dec 16th so about 70 people on our SYC list can buy food, clothing, toys and household goods. You can mail St. Luke’s a check with “SYC” in the memo section or donate online through ACS. ALTERNATIVE GIFTS FAIR This year, we encourage you to make donations directly to the organizations of our Alternative Gifts Fair. More information about both SYC and the AGF can be found here. Please share this link with your family and friends and encourage them to join you in giving this Christmas. ADVENT LESSONS AND CAROLS This Sunday, our worship will be Advent Lessons and Carols. This wonderful tradition of readings, prayers and music is sure to get you into the season of Advent. This service is a bit longer than our Spiritual Communion, but we will not have a sermon so your total worship experience will be a normal length. We hope you will enjoy this liturgical beginning to this season. ADVENT CALENDARS AND MEDITATIONS Did you miss the All Things Advent pick-up last Sunday? We still have some supplies to share! Drive by St. Luke’s at any time, park under the breezeway, and pick up a manila envelope which includes calendars/meditations. If you need some greens for your Advent Wreath, take some of the trimmings from the other box. #ADVENTWORD Consider participating in #ADVENTWORD, a daily practice to reflect on a single word each day. You can journal, make art, or post a picture about this word. | BLUE CHRISTMAS St. Luke’s will be offering an online Blue Christmas service, premiering at 7pm on Wed Dec 9th on our Facebook page and YouTube channel. It will stay up through the holiday season. We encourage you to watch, and to share this reflective service with friends and family who may be sad, lonely, angry or grieving this season. JINGLE BELL LEAP FROM HOME Everything is a little different this year–our annual Jingle Bell LEAP fundraiser will be virtual. Please register to participate then run, walk or stroll 3.1 miles (5k) any time between Dec 5-12th and our kids will win! We’ll be posting pictures, videos, and times online and have t-shirts for our first 100 registrants. No time to run or walk? Be a S-LEAPr and make a donation. |
