Youth Ministries at St. Luke's

We provide a soulful and fun environment for our middle and high school students to explore their faith. We value fun, service to others, worship, and learning. Youth participate in many of the activities of St. Luke's alongside adults, but there are some special ways for youth to get involved as well.
- Episcopal Youth Community (EYC): Many youth of St. Luke's, grades 6-12, participate in EYC. The group meets on most Sunday evenings during the school year from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Meetings include games, snack, prayers, and an activity. Sometimes we focus on a topic related to faith. Sometimes we just have fun. Sometimes we do a special worship event or go to help others in need. We also have special trips such as lock-ins, ski trips, and beach and mountain retreats. We have longer summer events like trips to Mississippi (2007, 2009) and a pilgrimage to Belize (2010). Click on "blogs" at the top of this page to see more.
- Sunday School: Middle school and high school classes meet together in Johnson Hall from 9:20 a.m. to10:15 a.m. Sundays during the school year. Our format begins with social time, followed by prayer. We locate and read a story from the Bible, using different translations. We reflect using questions that help us sense the story as it relates to our lives.
- Acolytes provide majesty and dignity in our worship by carrying the cross and torches, and by serving at the preparation of the altar for Eucharist. Youth also serve as scripture readers and prayer leaders at our services.
