Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Calling All Sunday Counters! Starting this September the plan is to restart the Sunday Counters. How does this ministry work? Well, if you are interested to learn and have questions, please contact Julia Hoyle. Thank you for considering this ministry. Calling all ushers (or would be ushers): There will be an usher training for all current, past, soon to be ushers (or anyone interested in learning what an usher is responsible for) on August 7, immediately following the service. We will review all worship (bring elements to the altar, etc.), communion, and emergency protocols at this time. Bring a friend! The long-awaited St. Luke’s Fall Fling will be held on October 15, 2022, along with our Pumpkin Patch. This is a major opportunity to work with other St. Luker’s to support our outreach program. the Fall Fling proceeds will go to St. Luke’s Outreach efforts while providing useful items to the Durham community at very reasonable prices. So, mark October 15th on your calendar and continue or start saving those “treasures”. Email Joan Hodges or Lisa D’Amico for questions or volunteer opportunities. See you there! |
Full Article – Rector Search Update July 2022 The vestry has asked Joan Hodges and Steve Dedrick to serve as Co-Chairs of our 2022/2023 Search Committee to find our next rector and they have both agreed. Joan and Steve will assist in building out the full Search Committee to include 3 vestry members. We will announce the full committee in late July and then the entire Search Committee will begin meeting with Canon Catherine Massey from the Office of Transition Ministry of the Diocese. As has been mentioned before, they will begin their work of gathering thoughts, hopes, and dreams of who St. Luke’s is and who St. Luke’s wants to become. This data gathering, from all of you, will produce what is called the Parish Profile. This is what potential candidates will see when our position is posted. Look for opportunities for your voice to be heard in the coming months! Please join me and the vestry in praying for God to continue to guide us throughout this process. Faithfully, Lisa D’Amico Sr. Warden, St. Luke’s vestry |
Please be advised that the clergy will never ask for help, gift cards, etc. through emails or text messages. There have been more bogus texts being received.
