New This Week |
If you would like to make a donation towards Christmas flowers and greenery, please make your check payable to St Luke’s and mark it “Christmas flowers”. Also note in whose memory or honor it is given. It may be placed in the offering plate or mailed directly to the church office. Deadline is December 15. There’s Still Time to Share Your Christmas! We’ve received great initial response to funding Share Your Christmas for St. Luke’s/LEAP Families and Maple Court Veterans, but we need more donors to help meet our goal. Remember the deadline to donate towards gift cards is this Sunday, December 12. Have you visited our Share Your Christmas web page at https://stlukesdurham.org/alternative-gift-fair-and-share-your-christmas/? There you will find more information about the Families and Veterans who need gift cards, plus links to the organizations you have always donated to during this event: Ronald McDonald House, and the Animal Protection Society of Durham. This has been a hard year for our Share Your Christmas recipients, so please be generous! Questions? Call Carol or Bill Charping at 919-489-8421 Deck the Nave St. Luke’s needs your help after the 9:30 a.m. service on December 19! Many hands make light work. Immediately after worship, please stay and lend a hand as we decorate the nave for Christmas |
Announcements |
We Need a Home for Afghan refugees. As you may know, St. Luke’s, St. Titus, and St. Joseph’s are together sponsoring an Afghan refugee family. We need a two- or preferably 3-bedroom home or apartment to rent. We hope to stay in the range of $1500 per month and find a place that is close to public transportation. If you know of such a place or can recommend people who can help us, please call Bill Gutknecht at 919-672-2153. Vestry Transition Update After considering several clergy options for our transition, the Vestry has chosen the Traditional Interim Rector option. Bishop Rodman and Catherine Massey, the Canon for Transition and Pastoral Ministries, are currently screening candidates to present to the Vestry for consideration. |
