New This Week |
JUNE WORSHIP You can now sign up for June in-person worship here. Each month we plan to experiment with different practices as we move towards more full re-gathering. For June we will offer in-person services on June 6 and 20. We will not sing in June worship services as we get used to being indoors or being unmasked outdoors. Both services will include a sermon at the end of the service. Our 8:30 service will be outdoors behind the Gray Building with chairs provided. Masks will be optional for those who have been vaccinated (required for those who aren’t vaccinate). Our 9:30 service will be indoors, Masks Required, in our main sanctuary, with socially distanced pods of chairs. Please make sure to keep socially distanced while entering and exiting. As is our new norm, please stay at home if you are sick, have any symptoms, or may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19. HELP NEEDED JUNE 20 Hospitality Coordinator Carol Joyner will be on vacation June 20th. We are in need of 1-3 people to help with set-up and take-down for our 8:30 service that day. If you are able and willing, please contact Helen by June 14. EL BUEN PASTOR FOOD DISTRIBUTION TOMORROW St. Luke’s members and friends (16 years and older) are encouraged to help with the monthly food distribution out of El Buen Pastor. Distributions are normally from 7:30-12:30 (come all or just part of the time) on the 1st Saturday of the month. For more info, please contact Peter Jacobi (corrected link) who is a regular St. Luke’s participant. Next Dates: May 29th, June 5th |

BELATED DEACON DAN SENDING Deacon Dan Laird retired from St. Luke’s about a year ago. At that time, we held a virtual Coffee Hour in his honor, but we were not able to give him a sending pray. A year later, Dan will join us for our 9:30 in person service on June 6th for his belated sending prayer. If you would like to send a note or card to help send him on his way to Albuquerque, you may send it to his attention at St. Luke’s, 1737 Hillandale Rd, Durham NC 27705. Please send your notes by the 29th. GARDEN/GROUNDS WORKDAYS FOR 2021 All workdays begin at 7:30 and last until 10:00 or as long as you can stay. Bring a hat, gloves, water and tools. Contact the workday leader for more information. June 5th Wendy Cook and Steve Dedrick July 24th Daniel Emory Sept. 11th Eileen Morgan Nov. 6th Hope Galunas |
