New This Week
Make sure to join Facebook or YouTube at 3pm on Christmas Eve (or anytime after that) for our Christmas Pageant and Spiritual Communion.  Thank you to Kelly Farrell-Sexton who created and edited this year’s pageant and for the children who participated by submitting videos.

Please plan on joining Zoom from 4:00-5:15 for a Festive, Fun Coffee Hour on Christmas Eve!  The festivities include some Christmas Carol sing-alongs, fun questions and trivia, and maybe even a scavenger hunt!  Come have fun with us using the Zoom link sent via email.

Watch your front porch on Dec 22nd and 23rd.  We hope to drop off Christmas Cheer bags to all active members.  We invite you to enjoy these treats during our Festive Fun Christmas Coffee Hour at 4pm on Christmas Eve.
Thank you to our drivers, our bakers, and those who donated to make this event a success.

To watch the more traditional Washington National Cathedral Christmas Eve service at 8pm Christmas Eve, go to their Christmas webpage and scroll down to locate the description for the service.
Click on “watch now” to view the service.  Or go directly to their YouTube page.
Note:  You do not need to pre-register to view the service, but if you go to this page early, you will be invited to pre-register to receive reminder e-mails.

In thanksgiving for all the new learning and extra work our staff has been doing during the pandemic, our offices will be closed Dec 23-Jan 3.  Staff will not be checking e-mail or working, with the exception of Kathy completing the financial records on Dec 31st.  Please DO call Helen with any pastoral concerns/ emergencies.
Virtual ALTERNATIVE GIFT FAIR- our local partners need your donations
This year, we encourage you to make donations directly to the organizations we traditionally support at our Alternative Gift Fair. Included in this year’s Fair is Episcopal Relief and Development’s 1,000 Days of Love campaign, for which we will track our congregation’s donations. You may also continue to make donations to the Holy Cross School in Belize Feeding Program, our high school Scholarship Fund for our sponsored student Leticia in Belize, and our St. Luke’s Youth Mission Trip fund. They must be received by December 29 in order to have them counted in your 2020 contributions to St. Luke’s.
More information with links to all these partners is on our web site at
Please share the above link with your family and friends and encourage them to join you in giving this Christmas.

With the launch of St. Luke’s new web site earlier this year, we gained the ability to allow Rector Helen and other staff to directly share thoughts and information they want you to have. In addition to the weekly Rector’s Blog, where Helen shared stories of parishioners’ generosity in her latest post, Rev. Laura has a Family Ministry Blog, with a new entry posted this week, and Kaye has a Music Ministry Blog. You can see a digest of the most recent posts either on our home page or by visiting , or by using the Blogs entry in the top menu of our site.

Our 2021 Gospel Based Discipleship booklets are here.  If you would like one of these booklets that give daily bible readings as well as diocesan prayer lists, please contact Kathy.

Consider participating in #ADVENTWORD, a daily practice to reflect on a single word each day.  You can journal, make art, or post a picture about this word.  Upcoming words are:
Dec 18  Bless          Dec 19  Turn       Dec 20  Rejoice
Dec 21 Mystery       Dec 22 Wisdom   Dec 23 Holy
Dec 24 Proclaim
How Can I Help?
St. Luke’s members and friends (16 years and older) are encouraged to help with the monthly food distribution out of El Buen Pastor.  Distributions are normally from 7:30-12:30 (come all or just part of the time) on the 1st Saturday of the month.  For more info, please contact Peter Jacobi who is a regular St. Luke’s participant.

Please make sure to keep the clergy in the loop if there are any needs or concerns you have or you know about.  You can e-mail Helen at any time.

REMEMBER, Your clergy will not send you e-mail or texts messages asking for gift cards or financial help.
