New This Week
If you signed up to bake Christmas Cookies, please plan on driving through the breezeway to drop them off on Fri, Dec 11th from 4:00-5:30.  If you are unable to make this drop-off time, please contact Rector Helen for alternate arrangements.

St. Luke’s members and friends (16 years and older) are encouraged to help with the monthly food distribution out of El Buen Pastor.  The next distribution will be this Sat, Dec 5th from 7:30-12:30 (come all or just part of the time).  For more info, please contact Peter Jacobi who is a regular St. Luke’s participant.
Activities include unpacking and sorting donated food, repacking and loading car trunks.  Tasks are with masks, gloves, socially distanced, and both indoor and outdoor.

St. Luke’s will be offering an online Blue Christmas service, premiering at 7pm on Wed Dec 9th on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.  It will stay up through the holiday season.  We encourage you to watch, and to share this reflective service with friends and family who may be sad, lonely, angry or grieving this season.

Everything is a little different this year–our annual Jingle Bell LEAP fundraiser will be virtual.  Please register to participate then run, walk or stroll 3.1 miles (5k) any time between Dec 5-12th and our kids will win! We’ll be posting pictures, videos, and times online and have t-shirts for our first 100 registrants.
No time to run or walk?  Be a S-LEAPr and make a donation.

Our 2021 Gospel Based Discipleship booklets are here.  If you would like one of these booklets that give daily Bible readings as well as diocesan prayer lists, please contact Kathy.
Virtual SHARE YOUR CHRISTMAS – help us meet our goal
Instead of shopping for and wrapping gifts ourselves this year, we will buy gift cards for our Share Your Christmas Families, and Maple Court Veterans.  We are off to a great start of $1,700 toward our goal of $3,600, but with our December 16 deadline not far off, we need to keep up the pace to help the 70 people on our list. Families on our Share Your Christmas list have experienced an economic catastrophe this year and are in desperate need of funds for food, clothing, toys and household goods. Visit our web page at for information on how to donate through ACS, Paypal, or by check.

Virtual ALTERNATIVE GIFT FAIR- our local partners need your donations
This year, we encourage you to make donations directly to the organizations we traditionally support at our Alternative Gift Fair. Included in this year’s Fair is Episcopal Relief and Development’s 1,000 Days of Love campaign, for which we will track our congregation’s donations. More information with links to all these partners is on our web site at
Please share the above link (corrected from last week) with your family and friends and encourage them to join you in giving this Christmas.

Did you miss the All Things Advent pick-up? We still have some supplies to share!  Drive by St. Luke’s at any time, park under the breezeway, and pick up a manila envelope which includes calendars/meditations.  If you need some greens for your Advent Wreath, take some of the trimmings from the other box.

Consider participating in #ADVENTWORD, a daily practice to reflect on a single word each day.  You can journal, make art, or post a picture about this word.  Upcoming words are:
Dec 4  Fellowship    Dec 5 Glory        Dec 6 Speak
Dec 7 Comfort         Dec 8 Patient      Dec 9 Mercy
Dec 10 Baptize        Dec 11 Word      Dec 12 Honey
Please make sure to keep the clergy in the loop if there are any needs or concerns you have or you know about.  You can e-mail Helen at any time.

REMEMBER, Your clergy will not send you e-mail or texts messages asking for gift cards or financial help.
