New This Week |
WELCOME NEW VESTRY CLASS We welcome Beth Bonner, Mike Henry, Alan Schueler, and Lera Williams as our new vestry class. GREENS NEEDED Greens for Advent wreath making! If you have greenery in your yard that we can use for wreath making, please contact Laura Thornton. You can drop off cuttings at church on Saturday, Nov 21 or we can arrange for someone to pick it up. Thank you! ST LUKE’S WALKERS The next outing for the St. Luke’s Walkers will be this Saturday at 10am at the Duke Forest Shepherd Nature Trail. To sign up or for more information, contact Bill Gutknecht or Karen Gray. NOV 21 BEHOLD I AM DOING A NEW THING Everything is a little different this year–our full Diocesan Convention is postponed til March 2021. However, the diocese will be gathering by Zoom on Sat Nov 21 to share stories and wisdom with one another about what it has been like to “be church” during the pandemic. Convention delegates are expected to attend, and others are encouraged to participate. It will be streamed on the diocesan Facebook page beginning at 8:30. JINGLE BELL LEAP FROM HOME Everything is a little different this year–our annual Jingle Bell LEAP fundraiser will be virtual. Please register to participate then run, walk or stroll 3.1 miles (5k) any time between Dec 5-12th and our kids will win! We’ll be posting pictures, videos, and times online and have t-shirts for our first 100 registrants. No time to run or walk? Be a S-LEAPr and make a donation. BELIZE PECANS We have ordered our pecans, and they should be here soon. As usual, we have a few bags of extra pecans for sale because the vendor only sells complete, 24-bag cases. We currently have 15 extra bags of plain pecans and 4 extra bags of dark chocolate pecans, both available for $11 per bag. If you’re interested in getting any of these pecans, don’t delay: once they’re gone, they’re gone. You may phone or email your order to Kathy at church |

ADVENT SUPPLY PICK-UP NOV 22 All Things Advent: Even though we cannot be together to build our Advent wreaths, we will still have supplies for everyone who would like to engage in the season of Advent, so find those wreath forms and get ready! Your All Things Advent package will have lots of ideas and materials to use as we all try to slow down and enter this season of waiting and hoping. Pick up your package on Sunday, Nov. 22 between 3:00-4:30pm at church. Someone will be there to greet you, so you can drive through with your mask on. Anyone who attends the in-person worship on Nov 22 can pick up then. If you are not able to pick up your Advent package, please email the church office or call and leave a message and we will arrange delivery for you. |
