When and How We Worship

Candlelight Service

On Sundays we gather at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. for the principal services of the week: the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. At the Holy Eucharist we are brought into closer community to God and neighbor through the Ministry of the Word and Sacrament.

  • The Sunday 8:00 a.m. service makes room for all too elusive quiet time.   While there is no music, the sound of peacefulness fills the service and the congregation as early morning light shines through our east facing windows. Don't think this is a service for adults only. Parents of early risers love to bring their children to this shorter service.   Children love knowing that a delicious light breakfast follows the service in the adjoining Sprague Room.
  • At the Sunday 10:30 a.m. service we love making a joyful noise unto the Lord!   Led by our Senior Choir, congregational singing is in the round since the altar is in the center of the worship space.    Following communion, the laying on of hands for healing and personal intercessory prayer are available in one of the side chapels. The choir takes a break for the summer at our 10:00 a.m. services, but the congregation still makes a joyful musical noise without them.
  • St. Luke's is delighted to provide handicapped accessible facilities for our members and visitors, including assisted listening devices and large print copies of the worship service and hymns .   Please ask an usher for assistance.
  • A Nursery for infants through three years olds is provided from 9:20 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. on Sundays and at other major worship and fellowship events.
  • Weekday Services: We gather in one of our two side chapels other days of the week for Holy Communion as well as for the Daily Office.   Healing Services are offered several times a week. There are numerous venues and ways for you to participate in the corporate life of worship at St. Luke's.
